TPI (The Persistence of Ignorance)
(Open to offers) This polar bear’s outline is formed not of fur and flesh, but of burning oil rigs, smokestacks, jet trails, collapsing cities, and industrial wreckage. The details are rendered in impasto textures that press the viewer into the material weight of chaos. The title, The Persistence of Ignorance, reflects the willful blindness that allows environmental collapse to continue unchecked. The bright tones and black marks contrast similarly to the themes of planetary destruction and my child-like bear sketch. The title nods to surrealism since the original image came to me subconsciously. Sometimes I try to escape the thought of the timer.

Intraphoria: Wow, Nyaan
(SOLD) Part of the Intraphoria series reflecting my time in South Korea and Japan. This piece is inspired by Japan’s value of youthful and childlike aesthetics. More specifically, the doodles are taken from a mural I observed in Osaka, which simply decorated the walls of an average cafe. The work evokes the joy and simplicity of childhood, and emphasizes how this aesthetic can be of as much value as any other. It is a celebration of childhood art, which so many of us, including myself, are still trying hard to imitate.

Inmyeonjo
(Not for sale) Inmyeonjo is a mythical Korean man-bird-hybrid creature often associated with good fortune and protection. Small sculptures of Inmyeonjo have become popular as decorative and cultural items, my first sighting of them being in the Gamcheon cultural village in Busan. These obscure sculptures give off a sense of guardianship while remaining child-like and charming, which is why I created my own to honor the similar nature of the many people I met during my time abroad.

Intraphoria: Neo-Hongdae
(Open to offers) Part of the Intraphoria series reflecting my time in South Korea and Japan. Hongdae is a vibrant arts and youth district in Seoul, South Korea that has shifted from a hub of underground creativity and activism into a guilty pleasure shaped mass-consumerism party. Emerging from its roots as an arts and music scene near Hongik University in the 1990s, the area has long provided a platform for marginalized voices through street performances, protests, and cultural events. In the 2010s, however, large franchises and luxury developments replaced independent businesses, altering the district’s creative atmosphere. This mass gentrification and urban commercialization has ultimately led to Neo-Hongdae, a space of tension between youthful bliss and capitalist oppression. This work represents the sensorial feeling of Hongdae today, vibrant with highly saturated strings of color in constant flux. Flashes of its history still shine through despite the overwhelming quantity of commercial LED colors and mass advertising.

Isolation, Homesickness
(Not for sale) A piece about reverse AI generation and human individuality
30 cm x 65cm
Oil on canvas
2025
This work explores the limitations of AI-generated images in representing the depth of genuine human emotion. Despite the numerous negative environmental, cultural and privacy implications, AI is currently in a period of constant growth with discourse that predominantly amplifies its advancements and successes. As a counter to this popular discourse, these paintings depict AI created images which inaccurately represent the feelings of “isolation” and “homesickness”. The intention of this piece is for viewers to feel detached and puzzled by the paintings and their subject matter in relation to their titles and intended represented emotions, leading to a reflection about the inherent flaws of artificial intelligence and their own position in relation to its looming threat. The square format represents a pixel as well as the dimensions within which the generated images were created. A low-resolution texture effect is created by stamping paint with a dry brush, mimicking the look of the generated images' glitchy and cyber quality. Generally, very little painting medium is used so that these works can decay over time, contrasting with the indefinite nature of digital AI images.

Intraphoria: Musang
(500$CAD or 200$CAD each) Part of the Intraphoria series reflecting my time in South Korea and Japan. This piece expresses the feeling of tension between restriction and freedom. The rigid grids impose order, and beneath them are organic forms—The iconic Fuji silhouette, a ginkgo shape, a liquid spill, and the Han River—captured within a mosaic of oppressive order. Musang represents the idea that everything is in constant flux, these battles will always eventually be one by nature, which must be trusted even in our current dark times. Although mechanical in its aesthetic, this piece has many flaws in its conception, mirroring the imperfect nature of my analysis which was created as a visitor and a guest.
